Global competition for sports equipment brands
Sports Value has just completed a survey about the world’s largest sports equipment companies.
The largest companies on the planet Nike, adidas, Under Armor and Puma compete for fierce competition for the heart of sports fans globally.
Currently in the world, sales of the sports retail sector are US$ 260 billion. Of this total, US$ 82 billion in sales of sports equipment firms.
The US and Europe account for about 75% of global volume. Latin America only 6% of sales.
The global market has advanced a lot in the last few decades, pulled by US strength and key markets like China.
Nike leads the market with sales in 2017 of US$ 34.4 billion, well ahead of the others.
Adidas ended last year with a turnover of US$ 24 billion, Under Armor US$ 5 billion and Puma US$ 4.7 billion. Together they represent US$ 68 billion in revenues, or 83% of the global market.
