Olympic Games- Impact for host country and medal winning

Sports Value finished a new study that analyzes the impact of having received an edition of the Olympic Games in the conquest of medals from the countries.

Although the result of Team Brazil is the highest in number of medals, in practice it is a failure, since the country spent US$ 14 billion with Rio 2016 and spends another US$ 160 million in annual public resources for professional sports.

The analysis shows how countries built a strategic sports project and with increased sports practice of the population and concrete models of talent detection, rose in the ranking of medals.

The material shows that Brazil was not boosted by the high investment made. Without the new modalities like surfing and skateboarding, for example, the performance would have been worse. Brazil should already have between 40 and 50 medals in total.

Almost always the Brazilian Olympic medalists bring with them stories of overcoming, costing of the career of their own pocket and a lot of commitment.

There is no system that effectively contributes to the massification of the population sports practice, systematic detection of new talents and large-scale training structure.
