According to Sports Value’s latest study on the finances of Brazilian clubs (click here) the Top 20 teams in Brazil’s revenues have beaten record in resources generated with players transfers.
In 2018, transfers totaled US$ 327 million, the highest value in history. By 2017 another record had already been recorded with US$ 270 million. 70% growth in two years.

Currently, the transfers represent 24% of the teams’ total revenue, compared to 19% in 2017 and 14% in 2016.
The largest share continues to be in 2007 when the transfers accounted for 37% of the teams’ total revenue.

São Paulo leads the transfer market with over US$280 million generated in 16 years.
Brazilian clubs have handled almost US$ 2 billion in transfers over the last 16 years. São Paulo is the leader with US$ 280 million generated between 2003 and 2018.
In the sequence appeared Internacional with US$ 213 million generated in the last 16 years, followed by Corinthians with US$ 190 million, Cruzeiro US$ 184 million and Santos with US$ 141 million generated.

According to FIFA, Brazilian players were the ones that generated more resources in 2018
FIFA’s analysis showed that the Brazilian player was the one that presented the largest generation of revenue for his clubs in 2018. Brazilian clubs got R$ 1.3 billion in 2018, about $ 325 million.
The transfer market involving Brazilian players was US$ 1.15 billion.
